About Janet Lynn
I was born in New York, Queens, and raised in Long Island until I was 12. Then, my family escaped the freezing winters and hurricanes to the warmth and casual lifestyle of Los Angeles. A former hippie and old beach bum, I graduated from Fountain Valley High School (go Barons) and completed graduate work at CSU, Los Angeles (go Eagles).
It has always been my dream to write novels. Finally, in 2001, I decided that if I don’t try, I'll never know. So, I took classes, seminars, and workshops and tried my hand at romantic comedy. I thought they were great, but no one else thought they were funny. So, I took a deep breath and tried the romance genre. That resulted in hysterical love scenes that I thought were sensuous.
Then, a well-known writer told me, "Write what you love to read". For me, that was good old-fashioned mysteries.
With much blood and sweat, my first novel, South of the Pier, was published in 2011. That was it; I couldn’t seem to stop writing and researching.
But I could not get into the head of a man. So I approached my husband and proposed that we co-write a noir series. Thus, began the Skylar Drake Mystery series by Janet Elizabeth Lynn and Will Zeilinger. This series was so successful that we decided to try another series, International Crime Files, by Will Janns, our new pen name.
I am a retired Speech Pathologist and I have greatly enjoyed my profession. I have traveled the planet's far reaches for work and pleasure and collected wonderful memories, new friends, and a large basket of shampoo and conditioner samples from hotels.
