I was born in New York, Queens, and raised in Long Island until I was 12 years old. Then my family escaped the freezing winters and hurricanes to the warmth and casual life style of Los Angeles. A former hippie and old beach bum, I graduated from Fountain Valley High School (go Barons) and completed graduate work at CSU, Los Angeles (go Golden Eagles)
It has always been my dream to write novels. Finally, in 2001 I decided that if I don’t try I’ll never know. So I took classes, seminars, workshops and tried my hand at romantic comedy. I thought they were great but no one else thought they were funny. So I took a deep breath and tried the romance genre. Well, that resulted in hysterical love scenes that I thought were rather sensuous.
Then I heard a speaker, a well known writer say, “Write what you love to read.” For me, that was good old fashion mysteries.
Ten years, that aha moment, with much blood and sweat my first novel was published. South of the Pier in 2011. That was it, I can’t seem to stop writing and researching. I could never have reached my lifelong dream without the love, support and encouragement from my wonderful husband, Bill and my sister, Jo Anne.
I am a clinical Speech Pathologist and have enjoyed my profession since 1980. I have traveled to the far reach of the planet for work and for pleasure ending up with wonderful memories, new found friends and a large basket of shampoo and conditioner samples from hotels.
